The JA-YE Europe Virtual Business Challenge competition encompasses youth-focused technology-based learning activities which would help teach them entrepreneurship and business skills.
In the JA-YE Europe Virtual Business simulation contest, students from across Europe form teams and act as corporate competitors in the same high-tech virtual industry. Over a series of periods (the equivalent of business “quarters”), they make decisions on-line on their selling price, production level, marketing investment, capital investment, and investment in R&D. A teacher/simulation administrator can cerate different economic conditions the computer simulated businesses operate in. A computer calculates each company’s market share and retained earnings (among other criteria) and gives them a certain number of performance points. Every year more than 3000 students take part in this competition across Europe.
The target group for the JA-YE Europe Virtual Business Challenge are students in JA-YE’s secondary school programs anywhere in Europe. The JA-YE Europe Virtual Business Challenge targets participants in the Company Programme in particular.
